Desk-based Assessments

A desk-based assessment (dba) collates existing information about a site including: aerial photographs; historical maps and documents; records of known finds in the surrounding area; geotechnical reports; and a visual survey to determine the archaeological potential. Following a dba appropriate evaluation and mitigation strategies can be recommended.

Isambard Archaeology are able to undertake the necessary research and prepare a dba to support a planning application. Where necessary we will organise the investigation of trial pits to supplement the conclusions of the dba.
